Flowers, plants or linen

Those are the traditional gifts for the 4th wedding anniversary.  Strawberry and I celebrate ours today (as do Olive and Fern).  We met up for lunch and I bought Strawberry a new office plant since her old one met with an unfortunate accident. There will be a special dinner at home and then we have friends babysitting for both Friday and Saturday nights.  That’s about all that’s going on around here, although I’m hopeful that we have turned a corner with the crying at drop off.   It’s now been a few days that have been tear-free.  Yesterday he was very tired so I tried placing him in a crib for a nap right as we arrived and he sat up to watch me leave but didn’t cry.  Today he was more perky and after a quick cuddle in the play room, he voluntarily turned towards a group of older kids playing around a table and joined in.  I am so relieved.

We’ve been finding it tough to come up with blog topics lately, so we’d like to open the floor to questions.  Anything you want to know? Random questions are fine, too!

Updated to add: OMG!! She sent me MACARONS at work!!  I ❤ macarons! I ❤ my wife!

NOMS! What a wonderful day. Happy anniversary. I hope you have some excellent weekend celebrations planned.

  8. Happy Anni! Hope you enjoy your nights out. Do you leave Miles asleep and then go or leave while he is awake? We haven’t really gone out without them more than once or twice, mostly because I just don’t want to miss anymore awake moments. I’ve been struggling with this since going back to work. Our boys are usually in bed by 7-8 so I guess if we wanted to we could go out then and just have my mom sit here with them. Usually by then I’m just so tired! 😉

  9. Happy anniversary!!! You could always do wedding pics??? Did you decide on having kids before you got married or was it something you discovered afterwards???

Not a stalker, just on bedrest:)

  10. Happy Anniversary! And since few have taken you up on the random question advance–where is the craziest place you have had sex? Okay. Wait. I just realized you have family reading this. Maybe you can answer in a pp post???

  11. Aww, macarons and an office plant! I love when your partner knows the perfect thing.

What is your favorite tradition that you hope Miles will grow up cherishing (or at least participating in)?

  12. happy anniversary! i hope you have a wonderful weekend 🙂

  13. Our 4 year anniversary was one week ago today! Funny that we’ve followed such a similar timeline in building our families. 🙂

I’m so jealous of your planned nights out. We “tabled” our anniversary on accounta our whole household being struck down with the plague. You’re inspiring me to make sure we actually DO something and don’t just let it disappear in the rear-view mirror.

    Happy Anniversary to you both!!

  14. Happy Anniversary ladies! Will be getting back to you with questions I’m sure.. hehe

  15. Happy anniversary!

As for what to post, more photos of Miles are always welcome! Also, maybe updates on his verbal skills are improving or a post about the places you would like to travel with him as he gets older. Are you going to take him camping in the rain like we did growing up?

  16. Happy Anniversary! Enjoy the macaroons, getting gifts at work is the best (especially if it’s a yummy food gift that makes all your co-workers jealous!)

  17. Happy anniversary!

  18. happy anniversary ladies! and many more!

  19. Happy anniversary! I’m so glad Miles has lightened up on the water works at daycare.

  20. happy anniversary ladies! what a great way to celebrate. how great to hear that miles is doing well at the new place!

  21. happy anniversary! Two nights out together – woooow! 🙂

  22. Happy Anniversary a bit late…and I love that macaroon idea. Cute, cute. Okay, questions, let’s see. I know! Because I’m thinking about this constantly … you may have written about it already, but here goes. Do you both want to work, or would one of you rather stay home / take on the stay-at-home mom role? Related to this – what would your ideal job/work situations be like?

  23. Happy Anniversary (late)!

I would like to know, especially since Strawberry wasn’t sure about the whole kids idea, how has having Miles changed you as a couple? My wife had a child when we met and I want one of my own desperately, but she says the relationship will change, and that scares me out of it. Do you still have eh-hem…..alone time;) Did having Miles bring you apart as a couple at all?
