This is Nutella and Strawberry. We are a lesbian couple that has been together since April 2003. We were married (though not legally…yet) in June 2006. Nutella is your basic ENFP (read: loud, friendly, zany, optimistic) and Strawberry is the ISFJ yin to her yang (read: empathetic, practical, loyal, and at times OCD)
We began our journey towards parenthood in June 2008. After 3 IUI’s with an anonymous frozen donor, we were very lucky to get pregnant. The pregnancy was mostly uneventful, save for morning sickness that lasted well into the second trimester. Our baby decided he had to born in May despite his April 22 due date, and on May 1, 2009, after an extremely long and difficult labor, our son came into the world at 3:22am.
Our blog has thus transitioned from TTC to pregnancy and now to parenthood. We invite you to join us as we continue our daily journey as a family of 3 (plus dog).

Hello,
Just wanted to let you know that I’m enjoying your blog. My partner and I are in the midst of wedding planning (not yet in baby making land), but it’s helpful to get a sense of what the process is like. Thanks for sharing your experiences! Also, was the wine festival you mentioned Salute? If so, we were there too!

Hello and welcome! No, it wasn’t Salute that we went to…that’s a couple states south of us. Good luck with your wedding…though it was stressful sometimes, we had a blast with ours in the end
I’ll keep up with you two on your blog.

Just got your comment. You are blowing my mind. SPERM IS COVERED UNDER FLEX???? I DIDN”T KNOW THAT. I do have a flex account and I have used it for co-pays and prescriptions, but sperm is the main cost at this point. At $550 a vial + $200 shipping, it adds up fast. I will definately look into that. I didn’t even think that it would be covered. Have a great holiday!

Hi, I’m really enjoying reading your blog. It’s extremely informative and lovely to read. I just have to ask, but totally understand if you don’t respond off blog via email, but does your blog name have anything to do with your location. If so, and it’s the Vermillion I’m thinking of, we live in the same region
.
But, I totally don’t expect a response, this being the internets and all, I completely respect anonymity
.
Thanks and I’m SO glad I found your blog!

Erin- You know, we chose the blog name even before knowing that there’s an actual city called Vermillion.
Sorry to disappoint, but we do not live anywhere near there. We actually chose the name because Nutella loves the color red and “vermillion” is based on a nail polish color she uses.
That said, we’re glad to have you reading and welcome!

Hey there! So I had to comment because well we seem to be on a similar path. My wife got preggers also the third try with our last first choice donor sperm! Plus I also noticed the yin to her yang comment…my wife (pregnant) is the ENFP and I am the IFSJ. I’ll have to back track and read up on your blog! Congrats and good luck!
